In the NecroMech game world the rail transportation system in Britain post-Rip is split between the Super Train for the wealthy and well-connected, contrasted with coal-burning mass-transit locomotives for the rest of the population. Non-stop speedy routes between major metropolitan cities such as London and Edinburgh on the aero-engined, Meta Engineered, Super Train provides twelve travelers with opulent, leather seating in a single aluminium cabin. Albeit streamlined for efficiency, with multiple stops and inherently lower speeds, mass-transit is much slower and often crowded (even in 1st class) due to a restricted rail schedule in times of coal rationing.
